Balisong works in a simple way.

It generates static site structures based on give frontend display templates and content stored in local static files.

The content can be written in plain text or formatted via Markdown, Textile or HTML. It can be made of text, images and code blocks.

The content is also split into different sections which are loaded in the proper area of the Web page via the aforementioned template system.

Generated HTML pages can be categorized as either pages or posts. All posts will be listed inside a blog section of the generated site.
